Quinian necklace and bracelet by Olga Ingram
Using just five kinds of beads, you can make a variety of pieces by stitching these segments in a continuous line. Slanted all one way they curve to make a fitted necklace, or set at alternate angles you can make a zigzag bracelet. And there are more possibilities! This is a project for those with a little experience of working with small beads.
Here is what you need:
For a necklace measuring 43cm excluding clasp:
3mm pearls or other round beads (size 8 seed beads will do as an alternative) -31
3mm bugles - 2 grams
Size 11 seed beads in 3 colours - 7, 6, 3 grams
For a bracelet measuring 20cm excluding clasp:
3mm pearls - 14
3mm bugles - 1 gram
Size 11 seed beads in 3 colours - 3, 3, 2 grams
For either piece you will also need a clasp with rings big enough to take a loop of size 15 seed beads, 22-30 size 15s, your preferred beading thread, beading needles in size 12, scissors. You may also wish to use wax on your thread.
For the October class there will be a free pack of 3mm bugles with the pattern, enough for either piece, and the choice of colours are blues, greens or red.
