Up for grabs this week….pink rounds

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by admin in News

Hi Beaders,

We have had an amazing response to last weeks offer, many thanks to those that have signed up and left comments.

This week we have 4 bags of 40 x 8mm pink rounds similar to those pictured.

And the question for this week?

What type of beading do you do, beadstringing with beads such as lampwork beads or weaving with seedbeads?

Let us know what you type of beading you do, and as always your comments will be drawn at random for these beads.

These will be up until the end of Monday the 2nd of November.

Get your comments in now.

***UPDATE***

Comments 3, 4, 10, 14 were drawn, congratulations to Sharon, paperkate, Emma and Rachel.

look out for more free beads !!!

I tend to do stringing on memory wire but always try to make it a bit funky or different by adding drops and dimension, i used to make wrap pendants w cyrstals but more expensive and less popular! i like wearing pendants on a chain but im not ‘making’ jewellery just assembling

  3. Rachel

I’m new to jewellery making and stick to bead stringing at the moment, i love anything pink, purple or generally girlie! I recently worked with seed beads on wire, creating mini flowers and butterflys to hang on book marks, fiddly but satisfying!

  4. Kerri-Ann

I do all sorts, bead stringing with glass, shell, wood, gemstones, ceramic, crystal. crimping beads onto tigertail, bead weaving. I always like a new challenge! :-)

  5. Gaynor

Bead stringing for me too. Seed beads drive me crazy!!!!

as a beginner I started with bead weaving and actually like it although tedious its therputic x

  7. Emma

I enjoy stringing and to be honest like most beads, I dont use acylic beads and I LOVE lampworks beads but they are expensive. I enjoy wire work but do need to practice alot more. I would also like to try some seed beading at some point but I happy at the moment to pefect the skills I am already working on

I love haematite and combine it with other semi-precious beads and glass,.
The magnetic beads are great for my personal use as I get a lot of joint pain.

Very true Anne!! And nice to see another gemstone addict. Good luck with your seed bead lesson. I actually made a bracelet recently combining gemstones with seed beads weaved through the stones so it is great to combine these things:)

I too am a gemstone addict . I also use glass beads and enjoy combining them with wirework. I have been to one seed bead lesson and am looking forward to the next one. . . . Whoever said ”variety is the spice of lfe” wasn’t wrong!

I do bead-stringing at the moment as I’m still learning some of the basic techniques, although I have also had a go at bead-weaving and really enjoyed this. I purchased a starter kit from HobbyCraft about 3 years ago now and made a few of my friends lovely woven chokers. Only thing is, you need to be quite precise about marking off where you are on the pattern as if it’s something assymetrical, one wrong bead would look disastrous.

Mainly stringing, I don’t have the patience for weaving, however I am thinking Santa may bring me a simple loom so you never know. . .

  13. paperkate

I am very new to jewellery making, but have made a tigertail based necklace with seed beads so far. I am sufficiently encouraged to want to try doing some more bead work.

  14. Sharon

I mainly do bead stringing. I’ve tried some beadweaving but find it quite tedious. I’m hoping to make my own lampwork beads soon as well. Wirework and beads are my main love.

Bead-stringing for me! I have tried weaving beads and enjoyed it to a certain extent – but to do it properly, it has to be so precise. However, bead stringing is by far my favourite – and with any type of beads: glass, semi precious, acrylic, fabric, shell, lampwork – whatever.

I mainly do bead stringing. I have got a bit of a gemstone addiction going on at the moment so have been stringing a lot of those! But do use other beads and techniques too and am always open to learning new things.
